Happy National Day!!
The first week of October (better known as golden week) is the time when all the wealthy mainlanders flood into Hong Kong. They wait to get into Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, buy everything in the store and piss and shit on the streets (although, not always in that particular order). The only difference this year is that there’s no reason to push and shove with them on Nathan road. Rather silly, but the national fireworks are cancelled due to a ferry collision last year. The logic behind that is that because if it’s happened once, it will again the following year despite being more safety prepared and cautious. Chinese people worry about the wrong things.
Reminiscing last year’s beautifully lit skyline. Maybe the last of the October 1st fireworks.
