Lunch Heat

Adding some excitement to an otherwise mundane Monday with KC and AW.
Love the texture of these chewy glass noodles!

Pink Grill

It seems as though it has been so long since my last trip to Macau, when actually it was just about 6 weeks. I love Macau, and 6 weeks away from it seems like a lifetime.

My default restaurant choice is usually bene at the Sheraton. But not feeling like Italian, we went to Pink Grill, a Thai/Steakhouse restaurant. We ordered the Sautéed Organic Australian Spinach, Cheddar Baked Broccoli, Grilled Sea Bass Fillet and their signature Lemon Grass Chicken. The fish aside, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of these simple dishes. The vegetables were crisp and fresh and the chicken was tender and not to mention, a perfect dipping tool for the sweet chili sauce.

The fillet was dry, lacking flavor and the presentation itself was already a huge let down. I will be sure to stick to their recommended items next time!

Stone Nullah Tavern

When it comes to trying out new restaurants, I love small dishes. You can actually try a bunch of stuff without being over-full or wasting. Stone Nullah Tavern had just that – American contemporary food in small portions.

Started with a butter lettuce caesar made with light yet rich dressing, bits of blue cheese and home made bacon.

Spicy fries with a mayo base dip.

Grilled baby asparagus.

Most delicious and creamy mac and cheese that was mixed with a raw egg yolk and sprinkled with chives.

And lastly, deep fried “chicken” tenderloin with meat was so tender and juicy. The sausage sauce complimented it so well too!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t try any dessert as their small portions were seriously filling. On my next visit, I must save room for the fat kid cake that everyone was raving about.

Good Grub

Ending the trip with something closer to home… Well, I say that I mean something that won’t burn my stomach. I’ve been having too much hot stuff lately and I need some down to earth comfort food. The Bangkok Burger offers just what I need.

Feeling extremely fulfilled and slightly guilty.

Nice to Meet You, Steve

Trip Advisor recommended a homey little restaurant by the river and I just thought, if TA says it’s good, it can’t be bad. I was so impressed! Aromatic and flavorful home-cooked-style dishes made from ingredients that you could taste were fresh. A scrumptious dinner that would leave you full to your neck for only $125HKD per person. Steve Cafe and Cuisine is a definite place to go if you are in or going to Bangkok.
